This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") is part of the Terms of Service. It applies to every server and IP address we provide. You are responsible for all use of your servers, including by your own customers and by anyone who gains access to them.
1. Prohibited use
You may not use our services to:
- Store, send or link to illegal content, including child sexual abuse material, content that incites violence or terrorism, or content that infringes copyright, trademarks or other rights.
- Send unsolicited bulk email (spam), or host websites, DNS or services advertised in spam.
- Carry out phishing, fraud, identity theft, or host malware, command-and-control servers or botnets.
- Attack other networks or systems: denial-of-service attacks, port or vulnerability scanning without the owner's permission, brute-force attempts, exploitation of vulnerabilities.
- Run open mail relays, open proxies or open DNS resolvers that can be abused by others.
- Forge packet headers or email headers, or use IP addresses that were not assigned to you.
- Break sanctions or export control laws, or serve persons subject to sanctions.
- Interfere with our network, our suppliers' networks or other customers' services.
2. Email
Commercial email must be sent only to recipients who agreed to receive it, include a working unsubscribe link and comply with applicable anti-spam law. We may limit outgoing email (port 25) on new accounts.
3. Resource use
Servers with limited traffic must stay within the included traffic. We may charge for overage or limit the port speed once the limit is reached.
4. Abuse reports
We forward abuse reports about your servers to you through a support ticket. You must reply and resolve the issue within 24 hours, or sooner if we ask. You can reach our abuse desk at billing@geekydigital.net.
5. Our actions
For serious or repeated breaches, or when your server is compromised, is attacking others or puts our network at risk, we may null-route IP addresses, suspend or terminate the server without notice and without a refund. We cooperate with law enforcement when required by law.
6. Reporting abuse
To report abuse coming from our network, write to billing@geekydigital.net with the IP address, date and time (with time zone) and evidence such as logs or email headers.
